The German-Swedish duo Hansan returns with their new album Vargar, expanding their signature blend of voice and cello with guitar on two tracks. Smultronblom och vit jasmin pays homage to Swedish 70s singer Barbro Hoerberg, while Väck mig combines Nick Drake–inspired guitar with strings for a dreamy, hypnotic feel.
The title track gains intensity from Swedish rock poet Stefan Sundstroem, and Sommarlov features the bright voices of Pops Academy Stockholm, capturing the spirit of a school graduation. The wordless Ladidej, rooted in folk tradition, builds a rhythmic, trance-like progression.
Throughout the album, Hansan explores the boundary between sleep and wakefulness. Songs like Sov and Hela natten lang offer calm and closeness, while Vaeck mig and Fyll mig drift through dreamlike soundscapes.
